Coolum FC participates in the Mini Roo & U12 Football League within the Football Queensland Sunshine Coast Region. This is a non-competitive program for Under 6 to Under 12 divisions.

The mini-roo season runs from February until September for all age groups. Each season also incorporates two carnival days for all age groups. 

Under 6 to Under 8 age groups are not graded. Existing teams are kept together as they progress through these age groups. New players are organised into teams based on availability. Under 9 teams are graded by the Club without players having to participate in trials. Under 10 to Under 12 teams are graded and organised via a trial system. Trials run prior to the beginning of each season and will be announced via our social media pages and via email for our existing players. New players are welcome. Players MUST register to confirm their position on a team.

In 2025, Coolum had 43 Mini Roo teams across all age groups including 5 girls teams. Girls may play in mixed teams in all mini-roo age groups or may play in girls only leagues in Under 8/9, and Under 10/11 divisions.

Players are required to play in the age group that they will be in the given year (For example, a child born in 2016 will play in the Under 10 age group in 2026). With permission from the Technical Director and team coach, players may play up one age division. With permission from the Technical Director, team coach and Football Queensland, players may apply to play up two age groups or down one age group. Teams are limited in how many players can play out of their correct age group; please contact techdirector@coolumfc.com.au if your child may need to play in an out of age team. Children who turn 5 in 2026 are eligible to play in under 6 teams.

The cost for registration for 2026 will remain unchanged at $350 for the season. Players will need to purchase Coolum FC socks and shorts and provide their own shin guards and boots. A playing shirt will be provided for all players.

All teams are coached by volunteers. Volunteers are required to hold blue cards and are encouraged to complete the Mini Roos Certificate and/or Foundations of Football Coaching Course with Football Queensland.
